A wise composition of rums of different ages
The history of Cuban rum is as old as colonisation itself, as it is extracted from sugar cane, a product brought to the island by the admiral on his second voyage to this continent. There are many versions about the origin of rum, such as the one from 1650 that tells that a rum was made in the Caribbean by the pirates and privateers who roamed the area and called it “rumbillion”. In Cuba, however, the story tells of the extermination of the first inhabitants, up to the 16th century, and the arrival of black slaves.
